Directly in front of the resort, is the wide lagoon called Nemberala Bay, where the Rote islanders farm seaweed. It is a perfect dive spot for beginners to learn snorkeling, and where a local shop does its first open water dive for those on the "Discover Scuba Dive" course. While it is close, relatively shallow and safe, it features an array of interesting reef fish and colourful starfish.
