The stunning area of Tanjung Tebal offers huge boulders, creating canyons and shelves which stretch well out into the strait down past 50 meters in depth. Strong currents are usually found here, demanding planning for slack tide, but the currents result in the fact that bigger schooling fish are often encountered – jacks, trevally, rainbow runners, and mackerel. There are countless large sea fans in a variety of hues (even blue), a plethora of encrusting invertebrates and various critters such as pygmy seahorses and the current-loving spectacular Nembrotha purpureolineolata nudibranch, making this an extraordinary dive if timed correctly.
