Bali is a dive destination that has it all. Whether you are interested in some excellent drift or high current big pelagic diving at Nusa Penida or visiting Indonesia's most famous wreck the Liberty, there is diving that suits us all. There are several quieter sites for novice divers, beautiful limestone shores, excellent coral coverage, steep walls and black volcanic outcroppings. Being one of the highlights for tourist around the world, Bali is easy to travel. With this many dive shops it is easy to start learning diving, you can find rental stores all around the coast and finding other trips inland, hotels, entertainment or water activities such as surfing, jet skiing and sailing is quite easy. The rainy season runs from December to March but diving is possible year around with warm waters of temperatures above 25 degrees.

Besides diving there are loads of other sights and activities around the island. You can join Balinese dances, there are some excellent art exhibitions, handicrafts center and museums in Denpasar, Celuk, Mas and Ubud. Beaches such as Legian Beach, Sanur Beach, Lovina Beach and those around Amuk Bay are known to sunbathers, surfers, snorkelers and divers. Southern beaches are white while those in the north and east are more often black because of volcanic sediments. There are also more than a thousand temples on Bali with the Mother Temple in Besakih, built on the slopes of 3.142 meter high Mount Agung, being one of the holiest places for Hindus. Some other of the more visited shrines are Tirta Empul in Tampaksiring, Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi and the 16th century temple Tanah Lot. Shopping for trendy cheap clothes, sipping long drinks in a hammock or relaxing in one of the many private and picturesque bungalows are other rewarding afternoon activities. For wildlife and nature enthusiasts you can visit the monkey forest in Sangeh or the crater lake of Mount Batur. There are many tropical forests full of exotic wildlife, nice huge flooding rivers and many active volcanoes. Besides all these attractions you will be riding through hilly rice terraces, traditional villages with nice bat caves to be found and excellent dining possibilities. Several offshore islands such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Lembongan and the peninsula Nusa Dua are known to be even better.

Marine life around Bali is diverse and plentiful with Tulamben, Padang Bay and Menjangan Island very interesting and developed for diving. One of the highlights is probably the Ocean Sunfish that roams the waters surrounding Bali between August and September. But besides this phenomenal creature, you will find all the common reef fish, several types of sharks and rays, mantas and pelagic.
